Hello March, we’ve been waiting for you! The fire festival at Skansen

    Mexican Society organizes the celebration of the Day of the Dead with an exhibition, an altar with offers, craft market and traditional Mexican bread. Dancing, singing and music with the mariachi Mexico Lindo and Fiesta Mexico, Skeleton Workshop and more.

    This year’s ofrenda (altar) is dedicated to Alberto Aguilera Valadez, better known as the artist Juan Gabriel. He died in August 28, 2016 and is one of Latin America’s best-selling singer-songwriters.

    One of the brightest new Nordic pop stars right now is Norway’s Astrid S. You can’t have missed her huge hits Hurts So Good or Running Out, which she did with Matoma.

    She has been receiving praise and playing around the world. We saw her at the Rockbjörnen award show this summer, and she also opened for Troye Sivan at Gröna Lund. Now is the chance to catch her first own full show in Sweden.

  • Finnish Christmas Market

    The Sweden-Finnish School arranges their annual Christmas Market on Saturday the 26th of November. This is one of the most important Finnish events of the year in Stockholm and at the market you can find everything from Finnish design, handicrafts and books to Finnish food like christmas casseroles and karjalanpiirakka.

     

    Beside the school children and the parents’ association there are plenty of other sellers at the market, some of them coming all the way from Finland.

     

    The adress is Fridhemsgatan 17 and everybody’s welcome.

     

    Your Living City’s own Nina Uddin actually has a big role in organising this Christmas Market – come and say Hi if you see her at the market.
