Tim Bergling Foundation – founded by Tim “Avicii” Bergling’s family after his passing last year, has arranged a unique concert to celebrate Tim’s life, music and legacy. For the first time in history, Avicii’s biggest songs will be performed by the original vocalists and a 30 piece live band during a two hour concert.
In addition to that, a number of world-famous DJ’s will perform during the evening to honor their friend and colleague; David Guetta, Kygo, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Nicky Romero & Laidback Luke – all of them were close friends of Tim’s during his career. This evening is a tribute to Tim and all proceeds will go to initiatives related to mental illness and suicide prevention. “Avicii Tribute Concert for Mental Health Awareness” takes place at Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on December 5th. This will be the biggest concert in the name of Avicii ever arranged.
About the live tribute concert part: 20 of the original singers on Avicii’s biggest tracks, including Aloe Blacc, Adam Lambert, Rita Ora, Sandro Cavazza and Alex Ebert (see full list below), will come together with a 30 pc live band to perform a two hour concert of his original music.
“Tim had plans for his music to be performed together with a large live band, and now we are realizing his dream and giving fans a chance to experience his music in this unique way,” says Klas Bergling, Tim’s father.
“We are grateful that his friends, artists, collaborators and colleagues are coming to Stockholm to help realizing this Tribute Concert. They have all expressed a sincere interest and desire to engage in efforts to stem the tide of mental illness and lend their support to our work with the Tim Bergling Foundation. We are very much looking forward to this evening, which will be a starting point for the foundation’s work going forward.”

A former tram driver from Helsinki captivates the world with his dreamy pop disco.
Jaakko Eino Kalevi is on a journey where cosmic disco meets pop that meets sweet saxophones. The Finnish artist, who was born in Jyväskylä and who moved to Helsinki and drove a tram – before moving to Berlin to pursue a music career may no longer be undermined. Now we know who he is. We have read reviews where his music has been lovingly compared to Finnish criminals Jimi Tenor, the pop geniuses of Hall and Oates and disco legend Giorgio Moroder. In short, we know that this is an update and declaration of love for the eighties.
On the album Out of Touch (yes, you remember the Hall and Oates song?) Jaakko Eino Kalevi takes another step in his career. It is more mature, more confident – but still just as magically beautiful and personal. Melancholic from the previous album is also there. Like the romantic gestures. Here is a lot of heart and pain to spew from the scene!

For a few years during the 1990s, all eyes were directed towards Umeå. At least those who liked loud music. The reason was the rare vital hardcore scene that filled the mid-sized city’s leisure farms with angry, young people every week. The mother ship was the band Refused, whose afterburning proved to be a perfect breeding ground for hungry bands with a dream of once becoming as good and important as the role models. They never did. With the epoch-making album ‘The Shape Of Punk To Come’ from 1998, Refused changed not only the Swedish stage’s perception of what loud music can be, but the whole world. The sequel ‘Freedom’ from 2015 showed that Refused never gave up its revolution, just waiting for the right time to return.
Hot Chip has put their name in the history books for their unusually successful synthesis of indie and dance music. Their ability to interweave shimmering pop songs and dance floor bangers is almost unmatched. Now the legends from London are back with their seventh studio album A Bath Full of Ecstasy and a much-anticipated gig at the Vasateatern in Stockholm December 14th.

The city of Stockholm itself will not be setting a display of fireworks as previous years, instead it will invite us to a great pyro-musical New Year celebration at Norrbro and Gustav Adolfs Torg. By focusing on music and by choosing fewer big fireworks the celebration will be more sustainable. This year’s New Year celebration has changed character since last year with fewer roads closed to traffic. Instead, a pyro-musical will be set at Slottskajen, and you can watch it from Norrbro and Gustav Adolf’s square. Music with Swedish artists, ranging from classical to house, pop and rock, synchronised with colourful pyrotechnics will create a breathtaking show. A map over the area and more information about availability and roads closed for traffic can be found here. It starts at 23:30 and entrance is free!
