Welcome to The Film Club and the screening of Sophie Fiennes’ film Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami (2017). Director talk and party after the screening. In collaboration with CinemAfrica.
Grace Jones is a style icon and a living legend on the club scene and in popular culture. Sophie Fiennes’ intimate portrayal follows the star in the process of recording a new album, with material based on personal experiences. Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami challenges the documentary tradition that has generated countless one-dimensional mythologising portraits of women artists. Fiennes cuts from glamorous stage performances in New York and Paris, to informal chats with friends and family on Jamaica, and brings the audience closer to the human being Grace Jones.
Film starts: at 18 Duration: 115 min Location: the Auditorium, floor 2 Language: English and French, Swedish subtitles Tickets: 130 kr (screening and party) The Film Bar outside the Auditorium is open from 17.30.
After the screening, there will be a talk with the director, Sophie Fiennes, followed by a party in tribute to Grace Jones, featuring ImOnARoof, at 20–00 in the Restaurant and Bar.

Last summer we could see Berlin-based Peggy Gou from Korea before Dixon. Now she comes back for an intimate club game at Slakthuset!
2017 was Peggy Gou’s year with a bizarre tour schedule with over 150 plays, including at Panorama Bar, Sub Cult and Dekmental. Mixmag ranked her Top 5 of Top 20 of the 2017 DJs alongside Carl Cox, Aphex Twin and Nina Kraviz. You can say quietly that Peggy Gou is a growing star where her house-disco fusion has won our hearts, minds and, above all, our shoes on the dance floor.

Selam presents a whole evening at the Concert Hall Stockholm on March 11 with the legend Salif Keita Official Fan Page and Cuban’s star shot Eme Alfonso!
Salif Keita: Salif Keita, known as “Africa’s Golden Voice”, is one of the afro pop’s great pioneers. He was born as a prince, related in straight descending joints with Mali’s king and founder, thus prohibited by singing to sing. But he challenged the conventions and became a musician. In the 60’s and 70’s he was singer in the legendary bands Super Rail Band de Bamako and Les Ambassadeurs.
Salif Keita is constantly up to date and tours all over the world. He has won several awards and recently received prestigious AFRIMA Legendary Award in place in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
Eme Alfonso: Eme Alfonso mixes in his music rhythms from Cuba with jazz and soul. Nacional Public Radio of America (NPR) called Eme Alfonso for “Cuba’s new sound”. She has shared a scene with artists such as Chucho Valdés, Omara Portuondo, Fito Páez, and Ray Lema. She is also a member of legendary Sinintese nominated for a Latin Grammy.

In 1996, the Finnish metal monster Apocalyptica released an epic homage in the form of a debut album “Plays Metallica By Four Cellos”. To celebrate the classic album, the Quartet has released the album remastered – with three bonus tracks (“Battery”, “Nothing Else Matters” and “Seek & Destroy”). Now the band meets its fans on tour!
Without guitars – but precious metal. It is Apocalyptica – formed by four cellists from Finland who are classically educated from the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. It was the common interest in metal that meant the start of Apocalyptica – and over 4 million albums sold to date.
With own songs as well as covers like Metallica, AC / DC, Pantera, Sepultura, Apocalyptica has become a name that the entire metal world now knows. It has also involved collaborations with stars like Dave Lombardo (Slayer), Ville Valo (HIM), To Lindemann (Rammstein), Joseph Duplantier (Gojira), Corey Taylor (Slipknot) and many more.

The R & B Icon D’Angelo returns to Sweden for a concert at the Annexet in Stockholm on March 19!
After his Voodoo Tour in 2001, D’Angelo decided to withdraw from the spotlight for a long time. It was not until 2014 that the world heard from D’Angelo again. The album “Black Messiah” was not intended to be released then, but due to the escalating situation of police violence in the United States, D’Angelo decided to release the politically charged album as a statement about the tense situation in the country. In connection with the album release, he went out to a successful European Tour including a sold out concert in Stockholm.
Now, the American R & B legend is looking back at Scandinavia and getting ready for concerts in both Copenhagen and Stockholm! Do not miss it!

When he is not touring the world as a support act for Madonna, Flying Lotus or Kendrick Lamar, he plays for sold out venues in London, Paris and Milan. Irish Rejjie Snow is something completely different, and has already become one of Europe’s most exciting and idiosyncratic rappers. The productive Snow has already gilded the year with the mix of The Moon & You – where his sleepy flow is set in a rather interesting context. Snow’s debut album Dear Annie has been well received. Recently, he dropped another taste from the upcoming album in the form of the radiant single Virgo that testifies to another gun release.
