After founding popular record label and blog ‘House of Disco’ 7 years ago Magnier has spent the last few years making a name for himself as a DJ who doesn’t just play disco, but plays to make people cut loose and this ethos has seen him pilot dance floors all over the world.
Now he’s flying to Stockholm from London for Fotografiska Studio Live!
It was as though everyone was just waiting for Seinabo Sey to appear. As if everyone knew she was fantastic even before we had heard of her. So when she showed up we were already more than ready to wrap our hearts around her talent. Her voice was, of course, what struck us first. A voice that fills the room with warmth. Baltimore’s duo Beach House has dazzled us with its magnificent and melancholic dream pop for over a decade. In May, the band returned with its seventh studio album, strategically named “7” – and when released, Beach House will have release 77 songs in total. The first single “Lemon Glow” and the second one was “Dive” – two receipts on Beach House grandeur. On October 11-14 the doors to the Affordable Art Fair will be open for its 2018 edition!
Nacka Strandsmässan’s premises transform into an artistic oasis where Swedish and international galleries exhibit art from hundreds of artists. The concept is simple, yet unique: an inspiring and beautiful atmosphere where you can find thousands of original paintings, graphics, sculpture and photography – with prices anywhere between 600 and 60,000. Young artists are mixed with well-known names. At the Affordable Art Fair, all artwork is price tagged to make it easy for you to find what suits your budget.
On Thursday, October 11, Affordable Art Fair partners with Campo Viejo to a grand Art After Work. The concept is the same as remaining opening hours; lovely atmosphere where you can buy art but the music is raised and the atmosphere is easy – an AW simply. The fare includes a glass of cava or red wine from Campo Viejo.

Stockholm Jazz Festival is one of Sweden’s oldest festivals and one of Stockholm’s biggest events. It is a festival with a solid reputation in the music world and considered one of Europe’s most well-kept and pleasant festivals which for a while has had its home on the island of Skeppsholmen. With the move to Skansen in 2011 the festival began its journey into the future.
Since 2012, the festival is housed indoors, on the best stages in Stockholm.
In 2014 the festival expanded to 10 full days. Attendance exceeded 21,000 and some of the notable highlights included Jamie Cullum, Angelique Kidjo and the Wayne Shorter Quartet. The latter concert was broadcasted live by the renowned French television channel Mezzo to over 16 million households in 46 countries!
Now in 2018 the festival is back, 12-21 October and it will be the largest so far, with 184 program points scattered on 57 scenes for ten days.
“It’s obvious that the festival is growing and bigger than ever, but the focus is on presenting a balanced and good program together with Stockholm’s united jazz life. During the Stockholm Jazz Festival, anyone who is interested in jazz or hearing it for the first time should find something that appeals to them. We present famous jazz veterans and fresh newcomers every second. The emphasis is on the jazz, but the festival also captures adjoining genres such as blues, funk and hip hop. There are genres that are always cross-fertilized by jazz, “said Eric Birath, festival director of the Stockholm Jazz Festival.

At the bar, Pet Shop Boys runs the jello-shot race with Britney Spears. Leonardo DiCaprio asks the question “What Is Love” when Leila K gets ahead of the toilet queue. On the dance floor, all dance moves to “Macarena” and Robinson Robban are always “King of the Bar”. Absolutely 90’s – An orgie of fabulous 90s nostalgia!

The concept is simple, yet unique: an inspiring and beautiful atmosphere where you can find thousands of original paintings, graphics, sculpture and photography – with prices anywhere between 600 and 60,000. Young artists are mixed with well-known names. At the Affordable Art Fair, all artwork is price tagged to make it easy for you to find what suits your budget.
On Thursday, October 11, Affordable Art Fair partners with Campo Viejo to a grand Art After Work. The concept is the same as remaining opening hours; lovely atmosphere where you can buy art but the music is raised and the atmosphere is easy – an AW simply. The fare includes a glass of cava or red wine from Campo Viejo.
Finnish producer Yotto is one of the hottest names right now and he’s played and supported by names like Sasha, Laurent Garnier, Jamie Jones, Kölsch and Adriatique. He has also remixed giants like Gorillaz, Röyksopp and Coldplay and just made his BBC Essential Mix debut that was played by both Pete Tong and Annie Mac. We present famous jazz veterans and fresh newcomers every second. The emphasis is on the jazz, but the festival also captures adjoining genres such as blues, funk and hip hop. There are genres that are always cross-fertilized by jazz, “said Eric Birath, festival director of the Stockholm Jazz Festival.

Basically, they beat gold at once and could soon see themselves riding in the commercial dance wave of the 21st century. With their sweaty edits by Radiohead, Madonna and Delerium, they played from day one at festivals around the world. In January, the group released its fourth album, Common Ground, which was received by open arms by fans worldwide.
With faster internet connectivity, their radio show “Trance Around the World” could reach the whole world on their own terms. On 2012, they reached 30 million listeners. Every week. As their sound began to adapt to the arenas they already filled, the shows also grew to unmanageable monsters. In 2007, they ruled what might have been the world’s largest outdoor festival ever, at Barra Beach in Rio De Janerio, with an estimated one million participants. The new Common Ground album was ranked third in the American billboards, making the release of their most successful set of list placements so far.

The wait is over! Canadian indy rock band METRIC who just recently released its music video for the new single “Dark Saturday” and simultaneously is coming to Sweden on Saturday the 27th of October, playing at Kägelbanan in Stockholm.
With songs like “Help I’m Alive”, “Sick Muse” and “Gimme Sympahty”, METRIC has attracted fans worldwide and been heard in contexts like One Tree Hill, The Vampire Diaries, 90210, Grays Anatomy, FIFA and The Twilight Saga.
On September 21, the band released its seventh studio album, produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen, who previously worked with artists like M83, Beck and Nine Inch Nails. The album has been recorded in METRIC’s studio in Toronto and has been mixed by the legendary Tony Hoffer, whose also worked with names like Phoenix, Depeche Mode and Air. “Dark Saturday” is the first taste from this latest production.

For anyone who listened to electronic music since the late 80’s, it’s completely impossible to have missed the brothers Paul and Phil’s music. With epic songs, and now reckless classics like Chime, Holcyon On and On, Belfast, Satan, Beached etc, the brothers have provided dance anthems since the the rave culture began.
Now they come back to Sweden with their first album in five years, Monsters Exists, and it’s smoking hot. Expect nothing but an amazing live show with all the classics and the new material merging into a single big love party.

This year’s Halloween extended opening period will include an extra weekend 19-21 October, and then again it will open the gates right until the autumn holidays, October 26 – November 4.
Gröna Lund attractions include a horror boat, more horror houses, new nasty areas and will fill the park with even more evil beings!
The whole attractions park is open, where the Small Area is adapted for the younger visitors with pumpkins, witches and ghosts. In the Greater area is where the more courageous visitors will be able to take part into two brand new horror houses, the Virus & O tour, and many more news.

The Vaccines are back to Sweden! The British Indie rockers who had a massive break through in 2011 have just released their fourth album and are setting off to go on a tour including one stop at Nalen in Stockholm on October 30th.
It was at the end of 2010 that The Vaccines started on really. The debut song Wreckin ‘Bar (Ra Ra Ra) / Blow It Up was released and got a single music year to spin. Their debut album the following year became the best-selling album in England (2011) and the success has not diminished since.
With their latest record Combat Sport – the band’s fourth album – the band has found its way back to a bit of raw sound. After touring with their third album, English Graffitti, they realised that the kind of music they like the best is when the guitar is in focus. Supposedly, the new record contains no less than 11 guitar solos on its equal number of tracks and that reminds us a lot of their debut album. In short, Combat Sport is a point where experimental pop was set aside to give way to what contributed to the band’s success debut eight years ago: self-sufficient shortness, breathless tension and fast guitar riffs.

Few voices will be so lingering in the future as Jorja Smith’s. With a voice that echoes as much the past as the present and future, Smith has already been praised as the voice of a new generation. It was further proved during her grand appearance on Way Out West, where Smith was one of the absolute highlights and accounted for a total knockout. The debut album Lost & Found has been regarded as the soundtrack of 2018. Now we are honoured to receive again Jorja Smith in Sweden this autumn for a show at Berns in Stockholm on October 31st.
