It’s Margarita Day!

On our column “Trust the Mexican”, today marks the Margarita Day/Week in Stockholm.

No, we don’t actually have a column called that, but maybe we should, considering what you’re about to read. Margarita Day is being celebrated all over the world now, with countries like Mexico, France, Denmark, England, Spain, and Sweden joining in on the fun. And this week, Stockholm is no exception. The festivities are taking place at a secret Mexican restaurant, in collaboration with Alias Smith, the ones making the magic happen so we can indulge in their delicious margaritas.

First off, let’s talk about their tequila and mezcal—top-notch stuff. But it’s their signature margaritas that steal the show. Trust me, I’ve been in Sweden for a while, and these are hands down the best I’ve tried in Stockholm. Their drinks are infused with Mexican ingredients and spices, offering a range of flavors from the spicy Mezcalita with mescal contraluz, jalapeño and fresh lime to something sweeter like the Cosmo Margarita with Buen Vato tequila, Jamaica (hibiscus), piloncillo, cinnamon, cloves, fresh lime, and a dash of their special ingredient, BESO.

We sampled all four different margaritas, and my personal favorite is the Margarita, featuring Santo Cuviso tequila, pineapple juice, chamoy, Tajin, and their sweet concoction, BESO, which is an agave syrup. But hey, I won’t impose my tastes on you; you really should go and experience them for yourself. And when you do, be sure to share with us and your friends which one becomes your go-to.

My part here is done, and as a token of appreciation for sticking around till the end, I’ll let you in on the secret location of this Mexican gem. But your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to seek it out and savor those delightful margaritas, because, as I’ve mentioned, you’ve got to trust the Mexican on this one.

The name you’re looking for is TACY, located at Skånegatan 80.
