Stockholm Brewers Festival – Katarina Kegger 2018

Södermalm’s newest favourite festival, the Stockholm’s Brewers Festival, is a celebration of Swedish and international craft beer & music. It came back for its 2nd edition with four sessions packed with beer from 20 craft breweries, food and local live indie music.

The festival took place between June 8-June 10 at the Orionteatern on Södermalm for the second year after its sold-out success in 2017.

The Stockholm breweries that tood part were Stockholm Brewing Company, Brewing Költur, Nya Carnegiebryggeriet, Nordic Kiwi Brewers, PKLK Bryggeri, Gamla Enskede Bryggeri, Fjäderholmarnas Bryggeri, Macken, Värmdo Bryggeri, Tempel, & Unibärsum. There were also 7 highly acclaimed international guest breweries taking part: 3 Fonteinen (Belgium), Cascade (USA), Cloudburst (USA) Beavertown (UK), Dry & Bitter (Denmark) Pivovar Matuška (Czech), and Lervig (Norway), in addition to highly regarded breweries from other regions in Sweden – Åre Bryggcompagni, and Örebro Brygghus.

There were also a number of beers specially brewed for the festival, as well as some edible collaborations between Nordic Kiwi Brewers and Pärlans Konfektyr.

The music at the festival was provided by Tella Viv, Joe Davolaz and Barbarisms, and Dogfood & Low & Slow Smokehouse & Indian Street Food & Co were in charge of providing the delicious bites to pair with our beers.

“The response and turnout was great this year. We are very humbled to have all the support from all the local breweries and very honored to have world famous foreign brewers come to the party! Looking forward to more”, says Mark Stein – the Festival’s co-founder.

We are definitely looking forward to the festival’s comeback in 2019!
