Looking for a place to throw your child’s birthday party in Stockholm outdoors? Aside from the parks and even preschool outdoor premises, there are some fun organised activities run by people who know how to make your little one really smile! We have done some research and have come up with the YLC list of great birthday party locations in Stockholm.
1. SKANSEN
Pet the animals at Lill-Skansen, see bears and moose at the zoo, and see snakes, spiders, and monkeys at the Skansen Aquarium. This is a great location for birthday parties as you have the opportunities to combine Skansen’s activities with your own family event.
What they offer:
Parties are held in Skansen Terrassen. This is the main restaurant for museum visitors. Skansen offers a party room that can be decorated in either an animal, prince & princess or a pirate theme.
Food:
they offer either a Lady & the Tramp menu (Spaghetti with meatballs), a Taco Buffet (Shells, meat sauce, salad, cucumber, corn, tomato, cheese and hot salsa), or a Pancake Buffet (Pancakes with a selection of jam, whipped cream, ice cream). Dessert is also included, you can choose between princess cake, meringue with whipped cream and chocolate sauce, or an ice cream buffet.
Price:
The base price is 1500 SEK and each guest over the age of three pays an additional 185 SEK. Children under 3 years cost 165.

2. The Swedish Sport Museum:
At the National Sports Museum (Riksidrottsmuseet) you can see exhibits on everything from the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm, to today’s fixed stars and the fascination of sport, but also its downsides.
Try the pentathlon and challenge yourself or others in fun competitive activities. Don’t miss the films of sporting highlights and old reviews, listen to radio commentaries and relive the excitement.
What they offer:
- party rooms where children can have cake
- workshops where they can make different crafts. For example, one of their workshops focuses on making medals or diplomas
- guided tour of the museum which is tailored to suit a variety of age groups
- the most popular activity is holding a pentathlon in the SPORT exibition. Here the kids can challenge their strength, rowing, high jump, balance and reaction skills.

3. TOM TIT’S EXPERIMENT
A large hands-on workshop where children and adults alike can play and experiment for hours. Located in Södertälje, about 25 miles south of central Stockholm. Their vast 16,000 square meter, four story building and outdoor park (open May-September) features everything from fun tests and experiments to hair-raising rides for the young and the old.
What they offer:
- birthday parties for children are run on Saturdays and Sundays during regular opening hours 11.00-17.00.
- kids get access to the daily shows such as watching “specially trained rats compete in agility”

4. ÅBERGS MUSEUM
What can you experience at this museum? They host a fabulous collection of cartoons and art as well as one of the world’s premier collections of Disney artefacts. For the children there is the Trazan jungle hut.
What they offer:
They lay the party table, give the birthday child a present and serve chocolate cakes, juice, meringue Suisse (ice cream, bananas, chocolate sauce and meringues) and sweets. After eating and drinking free play in the Hut, supervised by their parents, and a self guided tour and quiz in the Art Gallery.
Price:
SEK 110/ child
Note:
Parties are a maximun time two hours, the first hour eating and drinking and the second for playing. 15 children at maximum.
You can give the children candy when they leave but not during their staying at the museum.
