Sam Smith @ Globen
Ericsson Globe, Stockholm, SwedenAs soon as Sam Smith broke through to the world by taking in the tears in the chorus of Disclosures single “Latch”, it became apparent that we had to do with a singer beyond the usual. The rest is modern pop history!
His 2014 album debut had “In The Lonely Hour”, “Money On My Mind” and “Stay With Me” hitting the lists around the world – among other things, Sam Smith reached the top of the Swedish album charts. The change was total, from having played in Bråvalla Festivals’ smallest scene in the summer of 2014, the emotional singer from London, when the year was to be summed up, sold unmatched 12 million records and accounted for the biggest breakthrough in the year. Sam Smith also picked up four, highly deserved, American Grammy. Since then, he has also won an Oscar with Symphonic Writing’s On The Wall, the motion soundtrack for the Bond movie “Spectre”.
When Sam Smith released this song “Too Good At Goodbyes” earlier this fall, he had his biggest single progress in Sweden, and at the same time, he was looking forward to increasing the expectations of the new “The Thrill of It All”, released on November 3.
