Another Iconic Allsång brings us Linda & Pete, Aino & Carro plus more

The Allsång på Skansen season has already reached week 7, ie. the second to last programme of the summer. The line-up offered, among others, two very dynamic duos. First of all, Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen, who had a succesful turn at Eurovision for Finland this May. And secondly, the very iconic Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt, collectively known as Icona Pop – who we of course claim as Sweden-Finns, as Aino has a Finnish mom and Carro a Finnish dad. So the Finnish flags were flying a bit extra high in the audience this time.

The evening also included the rather legendary Lasse Holm, as well as stars of the somewhat younger guard, Newkid and Oskar Linnros, the latter of whom had the honour of playing the extra online-exclusive set after the broadcast was over.

And you know the drill, our photographer Jytte Lindberg was there on the evening to capture the moments of your favorite sing-along show.

Aino and Caroline of Icona Pop gave a high-energy kick-off for the evening with their 2012 world-wide superhit I Love It, which is still a big partystarter anywhere, not just for the Iconas but also for Charli XCX, who wrote the song. It is clearly an elite sing-along song.

Oskar Linnros performed his new song Bara mellan oss.

Legendary Swedish songwriter and artist Lasse Holm came to perform his hugely popular Canelloni Macaroni (from 1986, that’s 40 years!), backed up by Allsång på Skansen’s excellent backup singers Britta Bergström and Annika Granlund Johnsson. Only a genius songwriter can write a whole song based on the menu from a pizzeria in Vallentuna.

Newkid sang his beloved version of Du måste finnas, which he did on Så Mycket Bättre in 2020.

Icona Pop returned to perform one of their latest releases Butterfly Feelings. But don’t catch feelings, catch Icona live on 7th November at Berns!

As Linda and Pete were talking with Pernilla ahead of their performance, Pernilla just happened to drop Linda’s precious violin much to Pete’s chagrin. It was of course not her 1781 Gagliano that fell, just a prank to get Pete mortified and the ladies had a good laugh about it. He said he got fooled for about 2 seconds.

Violin virtuoso Linda Lampenius and vocalist Pete Parkkonen brought their Eurovision masterpiece Liekinheitin to the Skansen stage, and the audience was clapping along the whole time, and the Finnish flags were waving everywhere. They can also be seen at Berns in Stockholm, on 15th November!

The Swedish-Filipino singer Newkid returned for a rendition of his new song Hurricane.

As the Finnish lyrics of Liekinheitin did not really lend themselves to a proper singalong, Linda returned to play Guld och gröna skogar for the singalong pleasure of the audience.

Oskar Linnros returned for two singalong songs and then played the extra set that is offered online after the one-hour broadcast.
