Crispy leaves rustle at our feet and the first fresher winds are announcing that winter is coming soon. Life starts retracting indoors, but not only homewards… This is also a time for indoor music and film festivals, dining out at cozy restaurants or attending fairs like the Baking and Chocolate Fair. Oh yes, this is also the time we like to dress up like ghosts and pumpkins and go trick-or-treating. Let us guide you to some of this months event highlights, things to see and do in Stockholm.

Chelas – There’s a New Mexican in Town
Located at the trendy Hornstull neighbourhood of Södermalm, at Verkstadsgatan 4, you’ll find Chelas, Stockholm’s newest Mexican restaurant. Chelas opened its doors in July of 2019. The name comes from the Mexican slang word for beers and a phrase the Mexicans use when they want to socialise with friends and family: “Saca las chelas”. Literally translated it means “Bring out the beers”, but it can actually be better interpreted as “Let’s have some beers and hang out”.
The wine culture in Sweden is expanding, especially with the increase of vineyards in Skåne in the south of the country. In fact, 42% of all alcohol sales in Sweden consist of wine, and this is very different from brännvin, the traditional Swedish drink that translates as burn-wine. You can of course buy wine from the state owned Systembolaget. However, the only other place that you can buy wine and enjoy a glass is in licenced restaurants and bars that serve food. There are some great restaurants in Stockholm that unite their food and wine menu in perfect harmony, taking equal consideration to both.

Free Flow <3 Melodic Melancholic Electronic
Sickla industriväg 6, 131 54 Nacka, Sweden— With Frederic (Lrt/Jenkins)
From deep introspective tunes to hysteric beats, but always very melodic, definitely electronic, and a bit melancholic. Sometimes taking the shape of an emotional roller-coaster with some of my favorite tracks I’ve been listening to again and again in the last years.
We will start by contemplative and soothing down-tempo tunes, move on towards more dance floor deep techno tracks, before closing the loop with introspective beats and melodies.
— Key points of Free Flow:
– Sober. Get high on life instead.
– Dance. Challenge your movements.
– Safe. Respect each others space and integrity this is our family ♥(No Photos or videos on the dancefloor, to let people flow without worries)
What’s Free Flow?
A weekly dance practice where all are students and all are teachers. Rather than learning steps, we develop our own rhythms and techniques to connect with and express ourselves.Enter a safe and judgement free environment where, moving from a place of kindness and compassion, the only other boundaries are the ones you choose for yourself.
Come to connect, come to let out pent-up stress or emotions, or come to just be and let the music flow through.
Each session will follow a musical theme, and we welcome you to interpret that in any way, be it through movement, dress or attitude.
Free Flow is not for profit and donation-based. All proceeds go to the Node, and we encourage you to contribute to the community’s self-sustainability by donating monthly at http://syntheistnode.se/
or by SWISH 123 023 10 68.We look forward to flowing with you!

Wolf Alice @ Debaser
Debaser Hornstulls Strand, Hornstulls strand, Stockholm, SwedenWOLF ALICE [UK]
Support: Albert af EkenstamIn recent years, few bands have been felt as self-evident as Wolf Alice. With its mix of guitar-grunge and indie pop, the band has been a much needed energy player from an early sleepy music market. Wolf Alice has just released their second studio album – Visions of a Life – whose so far released singles testify to a band that has something really going on. Now Wolf Alice returns to Stockholm for a debut at Debaser Strand January 20th.

International Hug Day: Hug celebration!
Klarabergsgatan, 111 57 Stockholm, SwedenINFORMATION:
Welcome to the big hug party in Stockholm to celebrate the international hugs day on January 21 in the very best flashmob style. Perhaps we can beat the world record in Group Hugging that is on 10554 hugs? But most importantly, it is clear that we meet and give each other plenty of warm, loving, hopeful and respectful hugs!* This is a so-called “flashmob”: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flashmob
* For a little inspiration look here:
https://youtu.be/44tmIiInBwgWHEN?
January 21 at 14:00 (please feel free before)
WHERE?
Sergelstorg
HOW?
Because it is a “spontaneous flashmob” with no arrangement, it will also be spontaneous and a bit messy. At 14:00 a small group of people will be in the middle of the square and start hugging. Immediately after that, everyone is welcome to “stream to” and continue the call. More info closer to the event!
