Stockholm Jazz Festival is one of Sweden’s oldest festivals and one of Stockholm’s biggest events. It is a festival with a solid reputation in the music world and considered one of Europe’s most well-kept and pleasant festivals which for a while has had its home on the island of Skeppsholmen. With the move to Skansen in 2011 the festival began its journey into the future.

Since 2012, the festival is housed indoors, on the best stages in Stockholm.

In 2014 the festival expanded to 10 full days. Attendance exceeded 21,000 and some of the notable highlights included Jamie Cullum, Angelique Kidjo and the Wayne Shorter Quartet. The latter concert was broadcasted live by the renowned French television channel Mezzo to over 16 million households in 46 countries!

Now in 2018 the festival is back, 12-21 October and it will be the largest so far, with 184 program points scattered on 57 scenes for ten days.

“It’s obvious that the festival is growing and bigger than ever, but the focus is on presenting a balanced and good program together with Stockholm’s united jazz life. During the Stockholm Jazz Festival, anyone who is interested in jazz or hearing it for the first time should find something that appeals to them. We present famous jazz veterans and fresh newcomers every second. The emphasis is on the jazz, but the festival also captures adjoining genres such as blues, funk and hip hop. There are genres that are always cross-fertilized by jazz, “said Eric Birath, festival director of the Stockholm Jazz Festival.

On October 11-14 the doors to the Affordable Art Fair will be open for its 2018 edition!

Nacka Strandsmässan’s premises transform into an artistic oasis where Swedish and international galleries exhibit art from hundreds of artists. The concept is simple, yet unique: an inspiring and beautiful atmosphere where you can find thousands of original paintings, graphics, sculpture and photography – with prices anywhere between 600 and 60,000. Young artists are mixed with well-known names. At the Affordable Art Fair, all artwork is price tagged to make it easy for you to find what suits your budget.

On Thursday, October 11, Affordable Art Fair partners with Campo Viejo to a grand Art After Work. The concept is the same as remaining opening hours; lovely atmosphere where you can buy art but the music is raised and the atmosphere is easy – an AW simply. The fare includes a glass of cava or red wine from Campo Viejo.

Finnish producer Yotto is one of the hottest names right now and he’s played and supported by names like Sasha, Laurent Garnier, Jamie Jones, Kölsch and Adriatique. He has also remixed giants like Gorillaz, Röyksopp and Coldplay and just made his BBC Essential Mix debut that was played by both Pete Tong and Annie Mac. He is now up to date with his debut album ‘HYPERFALL’ via the label Anjunadeep, released on September 7th. He now stands out on his album World Tour and, of course, makes a stop at us at the Slakthuset.

At Absolutely 90’s Patsy Stone picks up BSB-Kevin on the dance floor to the tones of “Barbie Girl” while the Army of Lovers flirts with Ricky Martin. At the bar, Pet Shop Boys runs the jello-shot race with Britney Spears. Leonardo DiCaprio asks the question “What Is Love” when Leila K gets ahead of the toilet queue. On the dance floor, all dance moves to “Macarena” and Robinson Robban are always “King of the Bar”.
