Glasvegas @ Mosebacketerrassen
Södra Teatern, Mosebacke Torg, Stockholm, SwedenThe scotish band Glasvegas struck like a bomb across the entire music world with their self-titled debut album 2008 – and even before that they could count among others Ian Brown from The Stone Roses and Carl Barât from The Libertines as fans. The Glasgow band went straight from the narrow basement to the big scenes without the least hesitation, with magic singles like Geraldine, Daddy’s Gone and Flowers & Football Tops.
The album defined in many ways the music year 2008, and since then it has been labeled several times. This year it has been ten years since the release, which Glasvegas will celebrate with a jubilee show on the Moseback terrace on June 13th.
Glasvegas is one of Scotland’s finest music exports, and with its full lengths has become a big favorite of many. The band has previously performed both big and small shows in Sweden, and always tends to deliver at the highest level no matter where the gig is taking place. The same year as the 2008 debut – they also released the Christmas EP A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like a Kiss) and have since had another two full lengths – by late later … When the TV Turns Two Static released in 2013 and EP : n Secret Truth the following year.
Right now, Glasvegas is in the studio all over the world and works on its yet untitled new album. Even though the jubilee concert on the Moseback terrace is to some extent a retreat, there is also a chance for all fans to hear new. The play is also the only one that the band performs in Swedish soil in 2018.
After the end of the concert, the cult club Bangers’n’Mash – driven by Robert Plaszczyk and Weeping Willow’s front figure Magnus Carlson – is hosting an after party in Södra Bar.
