In 2019, Stockholm’s tech ecosystem continues to grow with more VC funds, more incubators and accelerators, more and much bigger co-working spaces, more startups fundraising, many more new angel investors, and more excitement about the future.
So it’s only natural that STHLM TECH FEST 2019 have more of everything that makes this ecosystem awesome…
Last year the festival had a much loved Job Fair, so this year they’re making it bigger and better with many more categories… Design, Security, Product, A.I., Backend, etc.
Two years ago they also had the Safari, with sold out information-filled networking events all over the city. This year they double the Safari events and host them in better and more central locations like ALMA, WeWork, Hobo Hotel and many more.
This year new addition is a hackathon, but not just any hackathon – The World’s Largest Hackathon for Women at City Hall.
And perhaps best of all, this year SLUSH is bringing their much loved networking and matchmaking system (for the first time anywhere) to STHLM TECH FEST.

Stockholm Fringe Festival (STOFF-X) in collaboration with Orionteatern and House of Producers (HOP) present: Peaches Christ Superstar – 7th Sept 2019.
One of the world’s most influential female artists at Orionteatern at one of Stockholms’s most exciting stage art venues.
Electro-rock provocateur Peaches performs Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar in a reverent, revelatory one-woman tour-de-force.
An unlikely scenario: the whole of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar performed by one woman accompanied by a single piano. Even more unlikely when that woman is Peaches, the electro-rock provocateuse who has made sexual frankness her calling card.
With extraordinary emotional and dramatic power, Peaches sings each of the nine principal roles. Building on the work’s own brand of subtle subversiveness, Peaches’ tribute to a score she has loved since she was a teenager is a chance to see the star and the musical in an entirely new light.

The multiple platinum Khalid just recently released its much-anticipated new album “Free Spirit”.And now out in a comprehensive Europe tour, with stops in Sweden taking over Hovet in Stockholm – which will be his biggest Swedish gig so far.
With quadruple platinum-selling “Locations” (2016) as their first-ever, and subsequent “American Teen” (2017) as debut album, Khalid has in just a few years gone from a promising star to a full-fledged artist. With his classic soul voice and his soft contemporary R&B, he is now one of the world’s most streamed artists – and even though the music pulsates with euphoric dance beats, soft 80s synthesizers and razor-sharp pop melodies, melancholy is never far away when Khalid gives a hit from within perspective on how it is to be young today.

Mystical, eccentric, kindhearted and talented are words that have been used to describe the actor and musician Creed Bratton over the years. On September 20, he visits Stockholm to invite offer two things he’s really good at – laugh and music.
Creed Bratton is best known for nine seasons of the critically acclaimed American version of the TV series The Office where he plays a fictional version of himself. During the nearly eight years that the series was broadcasted, many became delighted with Creed Bratton as the company’s Dunder Mifflin’s Quality Assurance Manager: The manager who never remembers the names of his colleagues and neither was embarrassed for it nor for his many bizarre statements.
Although Creed Bratton is best known as an actor, he is also an established musician with a career that spans almost five decades, and he has no plans to stop. In April, he released his seventh album While the Young Punks Dance with ten new songs, produced by Dave Way and Dillon O’Brian.
Songs like Naima, Giant Steps, Afro-Blue, My Favorite Things, In a Sentimental Mood, Central Park West, Impressions and many more will be featured in partially new arrangements.
John Coltrane is one of the greatest jazz musicians ever with a tremendously important role in the development of jazz. He died in 1967 at the age of 40 out of liver cancer. He became famous during his time in the Miles Davis group and appeared on the record “Kind of Blue” the world’s best-selling jazz record.
His own group had a super hit with the album “My Favorite Things” on Atlantic where the soprano saxophone played a leading role. The latter part of his career was devoted more and more to freer very spiritual jazz.
Coltrane also had classic collaborations with Duke Ellington, Thelonius Monk and singer Johnny Hartman and others in 2016 he would have turned 90 years and he’s celebrated three years late but better late than never.
A concert with energy, swing and ecstasy with world-class soloists.
Stockholm JazzOrchestra celebrates 34 years in business in 2019 and has played all over the world. A large number of CDs have been released and many radio productions with the band have been heard mainly in P2. The band wants to present modern swinging big band jazz rooted in tradition with inspiration drawn from today’s jazz music. A new CD with music by Peter Knudsen was released in June this year, “Nature Spirits” on D.O records.
*the exhibition will close at 20.00; bar and music continues until 22.00.

When the band was formed in the mid 80s out of the punk era, no one could have imagine that now, thirty years later, they would be accounted as one of the most important acts of the late 20th century. Without Pixies no Nirvana, no Blur, no Weezer, maybe not even a Radiohead. What a sad world we would have lived in. Now the band is getting ready to release their seventh full-length album.
Their critically acclaimed HBO special is a hit with over 180 million viewers and their previous world tour sold out everywhere. Now the gang behind the podcast “My Dad Wrote a Porno” is back with a brand new live show.
Imagine how you would react if your dad wrote an erotic novel. Many would had probably stopped their heads in the sand and never ever utter a word about it. Jamie Morton did the opposite and started a podcast instead. With him on this embarrassing journey, he has his best friends James Cooper and Alice Levine. For all of us who are not in the same situation as Jamie, it is hysterically fun to listen to how they go through chapter by chapter and break down daddy Rocky Flintstone’s (which of course is a pseudonym) work to understand how he could imagine it was a good idea to write the book “Belinda Blinked”.
