There are festivals, and then there is Rosendal Garden Party — nestled among the lush greenery of Djurgården, with oak trees swaying in the summer breeze and Stockholm’s skyline never too far away, Rosendal Garden Party once again transformed one of the city’s most beautiful corners into a vibrant celebration of music, community, art and nature.
Over the course of three days, thousands gathered on the Rosendal fields to experience a carefully curated lineup spanning genres, generations and continents. Yet what makes Rosendal Garden Party so special is not only the music itself. It is the feeling of stepping into a world of its own. It is a place where festival culture meets Scandinavian nature, where internationally acclaimed artists perform against a backdrop of gardens and open skies, and where sustainability and wellbeing are woven into the experience.
From the moment visitors entered the grounds, it was clear that this was more than a series of concerts. Food trucks served everything from street food favourites to plant-based options, bars buzzed with conversation, art installations appeared among the trees, and quieter areas invited festivalgoers to slow down and recharge. The meditation tent offered a peaceful retreat from the crowds, while the entire site reflected Rosendal’s ongoing commitment to ecological responsibility and environmental awareness. It is this balance between energy and tranquility that gives the festival its unique identity.

TLC prove that great songs never age
One of the weekend’s most anticipated performances came from legendary American R&B group TLC. As T-Boz and Chilli stepped onto the stage, a wave of nostalgia swept across the audience. Yet what followed was far more than a trip down memory lane. The duo delivered a vibrant and energetic set that reminded everyone why TLC remains one of the most influential girl groups in music history.
Hit after hit followed. No Scrubs, Waterfalls, Creep and Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg had the audience singing every word, creating one of the festival’s biggest communal moments.
Perhaps the most touching moment of the concert came during the introduction to Unpretty. T-Boz reflected on writing the song many years ago and remarked how its message feels even more relevant today than when it was first released. In a world increasingly shaped by social media, filters and impossible beauty standards, the song’s themes of self-worth and self-acceptance continue to resonate deeply. As thousands sang along to the chorus, the message felt as powerful and necessary as ever.

Faithless and the legacy of Maxi Jazz
Faithless delivered one of the festival’s most energetic performances, turning the Rosendal fields into a giant open-air dance floor. From the opening moments, the band wasted little time getting the crowd moving. They came armed with some of electronic music’s most iconic anthems, launching into tracks that have defined dance floors for decades. Insomnia arrived early and hit with full force, instantly sending waves of excitement through the audience. Later came God Is a DJ, elevating the atmosphere even further, before the euphoric finale of We Come 1 brought the performance to a triumphant close.
Yet throughout the show, the absence of the late Maxi Jazz could be deeply felt. His voice, poetry and spiritual presence have always been central to the Faithless experience. While the current incarnation of the band carries the music forward with passion and respect, many in the audience undoubtedly found themselves reflecting on the legacy of the man whose words continue to inspire generations of listeners.

Kaytranada turns Rosendal into Stockholm’s biggest dance floor
If there was one performance that transformed the festival grounds into pure movement, it was Kaytranada. The Haitian-Canadian producer and DJ delivered an explosive set that had thousands dancing from beginning to end. His seamless blend of house, hip-hop, funk and R&B created an irresistible groove that spread across the entire field. Every drop was met with raised hands. Every beat seemed to ripple through the crowd.
For over an hour, Rosendal became one giant dance floor as festivalgoers jumped, swayed and surrendered themselves completely to the music. It was one of those rare festival performances where artist and audience seem perfectly synchronised.

José González casts a gentle spell
Few artists can command a stage with such simplicity as José González. Armed with little more than his guitar and his unmistakable voice, the Swedish-Argentinian singer-songwriter created one of the festival’s most intimate and captivating moments. The audience stood almost hypnotized as González moved effortlessly between beloved originals and carefully chosen covers. Hearing him sing in Spanish felt particularly special, revealing another dimension of his artistry and heritage.
Among the highlights were beautiful interpretations of Massive Attack’s Teardrop and The Knife’s Heartbeats, a song that González has made so completely his own that it has become one of the most beloved cover versions of modern times.
As the sun slowly began to lower over Djurgården, the performance felt almost meditative, perfectly suited to the festival’s surroundings.

Slowdive provide the perfect Sunday soundtrack
By the festival’s third day, Slowdive offered exactly what many didn’t know they needed. The pioneers of shoegaze wrapped the audience in layers of dreamy guitars, atmospheric textures and ethereal melodies. Their soundscapes floated across the festival grounds like a gentle breeze, creating a beautiful contrast to some of the weekend’s more energetic performances.
Tracks from both their classic catalogue and more recent releases blended seamlessly, demonstrating why the band continues to influence generations of musicians. It was the perfect soundtrack for a Sunday afternoon among the trees, a moment of reflection and calm before the festival drew to a close.

A festival unlike any other
What ultimately makes Rosendal Garden Party so beloved is not any single artist, performance or stage, it’s the complete experience — sitting on the grass with friends between concerts, discovering an art installation hidden among the trees, dancing beneath the summer sky and rain, and oh did it rain!… while the city feels miles away despite being in the very heart of Stockholm.
At a time when large-scale festivals can often feel overwhelming, Rosendal Garden Party manages to maintain something remarkably human, it is a festival that invites you not only to listen, but to breathe.
As the final notes faded into a rainy Stockholm evening and festivalgoers slowly made their way home through Djurgården’s winding paths, one thing was clear: Rosendal Garden Party remains one of Stockholm’s most magical weekends of the year… Long may it continue!
