Florence + The Machine @ Globen
Hovet, Johanneshov, SwedenFlorence + The Machine is one of the most influential artists of our time, and now comes to Stockholm for their biggest gig in Sweden so far. June 29th, Florence + The Machine released the new album High As Hope, containing the previously released singles ‘Hunger’ and ‘Big God’.
High As Hope is as intimate as grand and took the band both to new latitudes and back to the roots. The new album contains collaborations with, among others, Kamasi Washington, Sampha, Tobias Jesso Jr., Kelsey Lu and Jamie xx, and as Florence Welch describes it, “a pure expression of who I am now, as an artist and an honest one . ”
The British artist Florence + The Machine has seduced fans as critics with her previous release, Lungs (2009), Ceremonials (2011) and How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful (2015), which has featured hits like ‘You’ve Got The Love ‘,’ Dog Days Are Over ‘,’ Shake It Out ‘and’ Spectrum (Say My Name) ‘and many more. Do not miss when Florence + The Machine returns to Sweden to invite old hits and new songs from High As Hope.
Support for the show at Hovet is the Scottish trio Young Fathers, who have just released the celebrated album Cocoa Sugar.

Melissa Etheridge @ Berns
Berzelii park 1, 111 47 Stockholm, SwedenIt has been 25 years since the iconic album “Yes I Am” was released and now award-winning rock musician and composer Melissa Etheridge takes on an European Tour!
She is known for songs like “I’m the Only One”, “If I Want To” and “I Want To Come Over”.
With her gritty voice and personal lyrics, Melissa Etheridge has inspired an entire generation and is one of rock’s greatest and most stellar artists. In 1993, Etheridge was awarded her first Grammy Award for “Best Female Rock” with the single “Ain’t It Heavy” from the studio album “Never Enough” from the same year. In 2006 she also won an Oscar for best original song “I Need to Wake Up”, which was the lead motif of the documentary film “An Inconvenient Truth” by Al Gore.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the now-iconic rock album “Yes I Am”, Etheridge is launching an extensive European tour. The tour starts in Manchester on February 18, 2019, and visits cities such as Berlin, Copenhagen, Munich and Glasgow. On March 12 she appears at Berns in Stockholm.

St Patrick’s Day Parade 2019
Jussi Björlings allé 5, Stockholm, SwedenThe largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Scandinavia takes place in Stockholm on Saturday 16th March 2019 at Kungsträdgården between 11:00 and 14:30.
St Patrick’s Day is Ireland’s National Day and it has been celebrated with a parade in Stockholm since 2005. Each year it grows in size and impact. This year the parade-goers will gather at Kungsträdgården where there will be something of interest to everyone in the family: Irish Wolfhounds, Connemara ponies, Irish Wheaten Terriers, pipers and drummers, while traditional Irish artists will entertain with music and song. There will be face-painting for the children and supporting businesses will be on hand with food and light refreshments for sale.
A parade will then wind through the streets of Stockholm with special guests, The Irish UN Veterans Association Pipe Band, coming from Ireland along with the Stockholm Pipe Band playing pipe music for all of Stockholm to hear and enjoy.
Following the parade, the day’s cultural activities will be finished off with some more music and a little Irish dancing, back at Kungsträdgården.
The event is organised by The Swedish Irish Society, which has done so since its inception.
