Whether you are new to yoga or have a couple dozen classes under your belt, you may be putting off joining a class in Stockholm because you don’t speak Swedish. Delay no more! We have put together a list of studios who offer classes in English.
The following Yoga studios had an English version website and so we contacted them to find out if they offer English speaking classes. This is what they said…
Yes we offer classes in English (all teachers speak English and its easy to follow along in class). But for now the English teacher is on holiday so there are no scheduled classes in English until mid of November :)!
Where: YOGAHIMSA AB, Grevgatan 37, 114 53 Stockholm

We have several classes every day in English, at both our studios. To be sure, you can click on our schedule to see who is teaching and if the class is in English. But i actually think the majority of our classes are in English at the moment.
Where: City Studio, Olof Palmesgata 11 A, 111 37 Stockholm
Where: Södermalm, Gotlandsgatan 53 B, 116 65 Stockholm
Yes we have many classes in English and all our teachers are able and very willing to teach in English.
Where: Yogayama AB, Jungfrugatan 8, 114 44 Stockholm
All our training has been in English, so actually we really like speaking English – so just let us know when you drop in that you don´t speak Swedish, then we´ll hold the class in English. We often start the class by asking if everybody speaks swedish, if not we´ll hold in English. I´d say about 50% of all our classes are in English 🙂 Hope to see you in a class soon!
Where: (Friday drop in classes) Yoga Shakti, Timmermansgatan 10
Reader Suggestions: If you know of more classes offered in English, share your local knowledge and let us know 🙂

New to Yoga?
Many people think that yoga is just stretching. While stretching is certainly involved, yoga has a unique way of strengthening and toning your body, improving flexibility and enhancing your sense of well being. This is done through the performance of poses or postures, each of which has specific physical benefits. The poses can be done quickly in succession, creating heat in the body through movement (vinyasa-style yoga) or more slowly to increase stamina and perfect the alignment of the pose. Give it a try and hopefully this will be the beginning of that great journey for you!
