Lollapalooza 2023 recap

Lollapalooza Stockholm

Lollapalooza came and went like a very pleasant summer storm. It poured down its music, extravaganza and thundering shows over Stockholm, and left all festivalgoers with plenty of good memories, which will give them life for many months to come.

Lollapalooza, the iconic music festival that attracts thousands of music lovers from around the world, returned with a bang this year. The third edition of Lollapalooza in Stockholm not only brought an electrifying lineup of musical talent, but also showcased a vibrant tapestry of fashion, entertainment, and family-friendly activities. From the coolest festival outfits that made heads turn to the ferris wheel that added a touch of whimsy, and the delightful kid’s area known as Kidzapalooza. This year’s Lollapalooza really was an unforgettable experience for attendees of all ages.

Lollapalooza 2023 brought a varied lineup with a slightly different emphasis than previous years. For the first time we saw a DJ headlining and actually closing the first day of the festival and it was no less than living legend Fatboy Slim himself who had that honour elevating Perry’s Stage to new heights of delirium as the audience danced, sang and vibrated along to his cross-generational hits. Perry’s Stage really brought on the PARTY this year!

Other headliners included another superstar DJ Kygo, pop queens such as Lizzo and Zara Larsson, big hip hop names like Lil Nas X and Travis Scott, as well as folk rockers Mumford and Sons and pop rockers OneRepublic. They all delivered world class shows, some leaving a more lasting impresssion than others.

Unfortunately for the die-hard rockers, Lollapalooza did not have much to offer this year, but there were a some unmissable guitar heroes to see like Mando Diao, or the opening act of the first day, Hot Milk.

On the other hand, we were once again happy to see such a great number of female artists represented on Lollapalooza’s stages, including some of our big Swedish favorites like Cornelia Jakobs, Miss Li and Daniela Rathana, as well as international on-trend bookings such as Sabrina Carpenter, Maisie Peters and Chinchilla.

Lollapalooza has long been revered as a hotspot for showcasing unique and trendy fashion styles, and this year was no exception. Festival-goers flocked to the event sporting an array of eclectic and eye-catching outfits. From bohemian-inspired ensembles adorned with fringes and floral patterns to retro-inspired outfits in bright and fluorescent inks, the fashion scene at Lollapalooza was a visual feast. Attendees embraced their individuality, expressing themselves through a kaleidoscope of colors, textures, and personalised touches. From flamboyant headpieces to elaborate body paint, the festival-goers’ creativity knew no bounds.

Adding an element of enchantment to this year’s Lollapalooza was the introduction of a whimsical Ferris wheel. Towering above the festival grounds, the Ferris wheel offered attendees a breathtaking panoramic views of the entire event.

Lollapalooza isn’t just for the adults—it also caters to the young music enthusiasts with its dedicated kid’s area known as Kidzapalooza. This oasis within the festival grounds offered a variety of engaging activities and performances designed especially for children. Kids reveled in the opportunity to explore music-centric workshops, dance classes, and interactive exhibits, igniting their creativity and nurturing their love for music.

As Lollapalooza continues to evolve and captivate its audience, it reinforces its status as one of the premier music festivals, setting the stage for unforgettable experiences in the future as well.
