Oh yes, this is also the time we like to dress up like ghosts and pumpkins and go trick-or-treating. Let us guide you to some of this months event highlights, things to see and do in Stockholm.

Chelas – There’s a New Mexican in Town

Located at the trendy Hornstull neighbourhood of Södermalm, at Verkstadsgatan 4,  you’ll find Chelas, Stockholm’s newest Mexican restaurant. Chelas opened its doors in July of 2019. The name comes from the Mexican slang word for beers and a phrase the Mexicans use when they want to socialise with friends and family: “Saca las chelas”. Literally translated it means “Bring out the beers”, but it can actually be better interpreted as “Let’s have some beers and hang out”.

Unique Stockholm Restaurants With A Great Wine List

The wine culture in Sweden is expanding, especially with the increase of vineyards in Skåne in the south of the country. In fact, 42% of all alcohol sales in Sweden consist of wine, and this is very different from brännvin, the traditional Swedish drink that translates as burn-wine. You can of course buy wine from the state owned Systembolaget. However, the only other place that you can buy wine and enjoy a glass is in licenced restaurants and bars that serve food. There are some great restaurants in Stockholm that unite their food and wine menu in perfect harmony, taking equal consideration to both.

For them, natural aromas are real ingredients; they want it to taste rhubarb, so they use rhubarb. Easy. But a little more difficult. They brew everything by hand. Hoping in the future to be able to make fun and good things together with like-minded and realize all the ideas we have about drinking. They value the genuine and genuine and want to create something more fun and better than what is available. Look more like a microbrewery than a soda producer.

NORDIC FAUNA ICE CREAM (On Folkungagatan 136)
    12-21
Nordic Fauna Ice Cream is a glass factory and an adventure. In an old garage in the forgotten Kräftriket, a stone’s throw from Brunnsviken in Stockholm, they manufacture craft glass in Nordic flavors.
Glasses to eat straight up and down as they are. Or as little pieces of puzzle, taste stories to go from and on to create something of your own.
Little like a ice-cream boat without Noak. A journey for all with pleasure and tongue to challenge their own limits. An Adventure in the Far North of Ice Cream!

HOW MANY BUBBLES ARE THERE NORMALLY IN A BOTTLE?

Even though she worked as a waitress and headmaster in restaurants in New York, Eva Karlsson never gets tired of questions about champagne. Not even stupid questions. Some can have interesting answers (49 million bubbles!). So why is champagne white if the grapes are blue? Why do people think champagne tastes better the more expensive it is? And is it any better the more expensive it is? How is it that American rappers only drink Cristal champagne? Why does champagne only grow in the Champagne district? Speaking of the latter question: You will be served genuine champagne. No sparkling wine here. Should it be high class for it to be high grade. Over the years, she has been tired of the excessive focus on the expensive brands. There is actually really nice authentic champagne that does not turn off the entire party budget.

Eva Karlsson is educated psychodramatic and mental coach. During university studies in France and as a waiter and headmaster in inner restaurants in New York, she acquired unique winning skills. As she now gets an outlet for in her tests at the Spritmuseum. She can be said to have an unpretentious attitude to wine.

Ticket also grants you access to museum exhibitions. Do not miss the museum’s champagne exhibition. The tasting takes about 90 minutes.

The museum’s critically acclaimed restaurant offers an extra dish when ordering an entire dinner menu. Limited number of seats. Please provide the tasting’s booking number in the comment field in connection with the table booking. For more information about the restaurant: www.spritmuseum.se/restaurantangen/

The bar serves simpler dishes before and after the test.
