Laughing Stock

It’s time for Laughing Stock #2, Stockholm’s newest all English stand up comedy night at Teater Pero on Sveavägen. Laughing Stock is a new all English Stand Up comedy night at Teater Pero in Stockholm aimed at both Swedes and Expats who may not speak Swedish. There are a few clubs in Stockholm where international acts appear occasionally, but always alongside comedians performing in Swedish. This night will be all in English, reasonably priced and with a great stand up atmosphere.

First Aid Kit

This amazing Swedish folk duo is formed of Swedish sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg. They first came to public attention in 2008 when a video of them belting out Fleet Foxes’ Tiger Mountain Peasant Song as teenagers became a YouTube phenomenon. Their status was cemented in 2012 when their country-tinged single Emmylou was voted by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 10 best singles of the year.

Stockholm Film Festival – Tickets now on Sale

The Schedule is released and tickets are on sale. The 2014 Stockholm International Film Festival takes place on 5-16 November. During 12 days, Stockholm International Film Festival takes over the cinemas of Stockholm, screening 180 films from more than 50 countries. Beyond film screenings, we arrange film quizzes, parties, seminars, Face2Face, Work In Progress etcetera.

Stockholm Jazz Festival

Stockholm Jazz Festival will take place October 10 to 19 in 2014, over thirty different locations in Stockholm county. They do not sell festival tickets. Instead, purchase separate tickets for each concert you want to see.

Lost in Translation

An improv comedy show about finding yourself in Sweden. The show focuses on the experience of living in Sweden as a foreigner.  The actors portray Swedes, foreigners and our cultural differences in an entertaining way that the audience can identify with, laugh at and hopefully learn from. The audience drives the show with their suggestions.

When: Friday 17th October

Stockholm Blues – dancing

A brief introduction to blues dance; feeling, posture, basic steps, and finally some luck you can shine on the dance floor. We apply the partner rotation and gender-neutral teaching, i.e. you do not need to bring a partner, and you choose whether you want to lead or follow.

Salsa drop-in evening

For beginners or professionals. Lessons and social dancing all night. These courses require no registration, just show up! After the course, you are welcome to stay and social dance, the entrance to the dance club is included in the course fee.

The Bald Prima Donna

Ionesco really hated the theater and had intended to write a scathing parody of the theater. The result was The bald prima donna, scandal when it was first set up in Paris in 1950, but success when a few years later, was put up at the small theater Theatre de la Huchette, where it has been playing ever since!  Do not miss when Sweden’s sharpest theater foxes encounter the man who hated the theater.

Christine Gaigg / 2nd Nature:  DESACRE!

Jack Dee

On the international humor festival STAND UP FOR STOCKHOLM makes the British standup veteran Jack Dee her first standup show ever in Sweden. Dance Jam

Dance Jam-Hip Hop Night on Friday in collaboration with StreetStar! The evening begins with a workshop/introduction to Hip Hop and then dancing until 22. Free admission!

The Stockholm Open: Tennis in the City

Since its inauguration in 1969, the Stockholm Open has been played every year, with men’s singles and doubles competing on indoor hard courts. Watch the likes of David Ferrer and Roger Federer battle it out in our own beautiful city… while munching on chocolate, of course.

Winter Show 2014

The Royal Garden of Sweden’s largest meeting place for those of us who love winter, adventure, gadgets and winter trips!

Stephen Merchant

Stephen Merchant’s first standup shows ever in Sweden. With great self-distance and a twinkle in his eye, he gives a new uncensored photo of his success and he also runs happily with oneself and one’s available, over two meters long, body.

Workshop in Street Dance

Take the opportunity to try out four different dance styles with some of the best dancers.Dance classes are organized in cooperation with Street Star. Oct. 18 DANCEHALL with Jacqueline N Sahlin.  Oct. 25 voguing with Fredrik “Milan” Quiñones.
For adolescents and adults from 15 years. No experience required. Duration: about 60 minutes.

Stockholm Ghost Walk

Haven’t had your fill of freaky yet? Here’s the highlight of the month: A ghost walk through Old Town. The Ghost Walk takes 90 minutes and is full of tales of murder, mystery, executions, assassinations, diseases… and of course ghosts.
