New Music Friday: Rhys & Violet Days

For this New Music Friday, we have picked a couple of gems for you once again from fresh new Swedish music releases.

RHYS – Last Dance

The young Swedish-American Rhys is yet another one of those rising artists who are bound for greatness this year. She was born in Portland, Oregon, but moved to Sweden with her family when she was 10. Last Dance is written by Jörgen Elofsson, known as hitmaker for the likes of Britney Spears and Kelly Clarkson. This follows up from Rhys’s debut single Swallow Your Pride, which gained much praise for her after it’s released in November.

VIOLET DAYS – Suck at Love

Violet Days has released yet another amazing and hook-filled pop tune, which goes high and low in both vocals and lyrics. Lina Hansson has great songwriting sensibilities and the synth- and drum-laden sound is very radio-friendly.
