Shockholm 2026: Halloween thrills and Scarlet’s musical magic spells

At least 3,000 people gathered at Sergels Torg on 31 October as Shockholm returned to bring its annual dose of Halloween magic to Stockholm. From spectacular costumes to live entertainment, Scandinavia’s biggest Halloween parade once again brought together creatures of all kinds for an evening of spooky fun.

The square in the heart of Stockholm transformed into a gathering place for witches, monsters, vampires and other fantastical characters, with plenty of creativity on display. As always, the costume contest offered participants the chance to show off their most imaginative, terrifying and spectacular creations.

While the costumes provided plenty of visual treats, the stars of this year’s Shockholm were undoubtedly Scarlet, the female metal duo who have made lots of fans through their Melodifestivalen appearances. The duo fronted the parade and headed to the lighting of the Burning Heart, before returning back to Sergels Torg for a show.

Scarlet brought their trademark mix of theatricality and heavy but catchy sounds to the Halloween celebrations, and delivered a suitably powerful highlight to an evening dedicated to all things dark and dramatic.

With its mix of live performances, creative costumes and a parade through central Stockholm, Shockholm has become a Halloween tradition for the city. This year’s gathering at Sergels Torg once again showed that Halloween is as much about creativity and community as it is about scares.
