Studying in the capital of Sweden offers lots of choice, but which universities and colleges are the best? There are numerous educational institutions in the Stockholm area and courses on offer vary from social sciences to music and nursing to circus skills. You would do well NOT to find a course that interests you no matter what level of education you choose to enter at. Stockholm University

This is one of the top 100 universities in the world (number 74) and is particularly known for research within science, humanities and social sciences. Four of its researchers have been awarded the Nobel Prize. It is also the largest university in Sweden.

Stockholm School of Economics (SSE)

Karolinska Institute

The Stockholm University of the Arts

Royal College of Music

Music teachers are taught here and learn about both instrumental music and vocal music. Formed in the 1960s, the Royal College of Music provides up to date teacher training in the field of music. The Swedish Defence University

No real surprise to learn that this university contributes to national and international security. In fact, all of Sweden’s army officers are educated by the Swedish Defence University. Crisis management and security and covered as part of the programme of study.

Ersta Sköndal Bräcke University College

Here you can study and research in social work, nursing and health care, psychotherapy, theology, and church music. “The university college is proud to combine practical study with research. Royal Institute of Art
