RD1’s Album Release and Launch Party at Slakthuset on Dec 19th

Sweden-based Iranian DJ and electronic music producer RD1 (Ardavan Masihabadi) is gearing up for the release of his new album, The Tipping Point, accompanied by an official release party at Slakthuset in Stockholm on Friday, December 19.

Born and raised in Iran – where an EDM scene scarcely exists – RD1 developed his passion for electronic music against significant cultural and structural barriers. After relocating to Sweden, he seized the opportunity to pursue his craft professionally.

“It was my first year living in Stockholm when I realized that if there was ever a chance to share my sound with others, it was now,” he recalls.

In the two years since that decision, RD1 has performed across some of Stockholm’s most renowned nightlife venues, including Slaktkyrkan, Hilma, Soap Bar, Berns, Sturecompagniet, Hornhuset, and Slakthuset, where he will now celebrate the launch of his latest project.

Known for sets that blend storytelling with a sense of familiarity, RD1’s style merges progressive, sophisticated soundscapes with a dancefloor-friendly balance of mainstream and underground influences. His performances are often described as musical journeys, shaped with intention and emotional depth.

Recently, RD1 has begun integrating elements of his Iranian heritage into his productions – an evolution that he says aims to create a deeper, more immersive experience.

“I’m trying to bring a different form of trance state into my music,” he explains. “A space where you don’t need to understand what’s happening – you just feel it and lose yourself in it, sober or drunk.”

The Tipping Point marks a continuation of this artistic exploration. The release party at Slakthuset will offer fans a first chance to experience the album live.
