About Warhol 1968
Exercisplan 4, 111 49 Stockholm, SwedenDid you know that Andy Warhol’s first own museum exhibition took place in 1968 at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm? It was expected to be cut off as American propaganda – but the reactions went apart. “Warhol 1968” is an exhibition about the earlier exhibition and an exhibition explaining the complexity of Warhol’s artistry from the breakpoint in 1968.
The time before 1968, Andy Warhol was characterized by both fascination and disgust for the mass media and commodity community. 1968 was also a dramatic year for Warhol and just a few months after his exhibition in Stockholm, he was subjected to a murder attempt. Afterwards he would have to move in partly new courses.
Follow an introduction to the Warhol 1968 exhibition with Ylva Hillström, Intendent Formedling.
In Swedish.
Download ticket to the display in the information desk the same day. Limited number of seats.
Included in the entrance fee (100/70 SEK)More about the exhibition: https://www.modernamuseet.se/stockholm/sv/utstallningar/warhol-1968/
