The acclaimed police series Tunna blå linjen (Thin Blue Line) has reached its final season, which is having its premiere on SVT on 27th September. Seasons 1 and 2 are available on SVT Play again, in case you want to catch up or rewatch before taking on the third season.
In the third and final season of the acclaimed and beloved series Tunna blå linjen (Thin Blue Line), viewers reconnect with Magnus, Sara, Jesse, and the other dedicated Malmö police officers. This season focuses on the fight against drugs, where the officers encounter addicts, party drug users, dealers, and hardened criminals who operate behind the scenes.
The season portrays both serious crimes and minor offenses, ranging from a devastating school bombing with lasting repercussions to smaller incidents and emergency responses involving people in emotional crisis. It covers everything from traffic violations, domestic disputes, sexual assaults, and drunkenness to bicycle thefts, football hooligans, and people who’ve lost their way.
At the same time, the main characters continue to struggle to balance their professional responsibilities with their personal relationships. The show’s central question remains as relevant as ever: how does one remain whole in a world like this?
Oscar Töringe, who plays Magnus, shared that filming the third season was challenging but incredibly rewarding, especially working with a cast that has become lifelong friends.
The main cast includes Per Lasson as Jesse, Amanda Jansson as Sara, Oscar Töringe as Magnus, Sandra Stojiljkovic as Dani, Anna Sise as Faye, Mustafa Al-Mashhadani as Khalid, and Malou Marnfeldt as Fanny. There are also new characters introduced in this season.
The concept and lead writer is once again Cilla Jackert. The series is produced by Anagram Sverige as a co-production with SVT, Film i Skåne and Helsinki Filmi, and in cooperation with several national broadcasters: NRK, DR, RUV andYLE. It will be distributed internationally by ITV. So keep your eyes open for premiere dates in other countries as well. Catch it on SVT Play from the 27th September.
