Sean Paul’s performance on the Sunday evening of the Rosendal Garden Party was a vibrant celebration of early‑2000s dancehall nostalgia, stirring up both classic energy and crowd‑pleasing moments.
From the moment he stepped on stage, the Jamaican superstar commanded the crowd, calling out, “Stockholm, are you ready?” and livening the audience with his crowd-engagement. The early 2000s dancefloor nostalgia was strong, when Sean Paul lined up one fan favorite after the next. The setlist was a feast of earworms, starting with heavy hitters such as Get Busy, Gimme the Light, No Lie, and of course Temperature, tracks that have become dancehall standards.
He also incorporated crossover hits from his numerous collaborations, including Baby Boy (with Beyoncé), Cheap Thrills (with Sia) and Rockabye (with Clean Bandit and Anne-Marie), which further ignited the audience into sing‑along mode.
A highlight of the show was when sprint legend Usain Bolt unexpectedly joined Sean Paul on stage. Photographers may or may not have sprinted from the press tent to catch him, but Bolt was just too fast…
Backed by a dynamic live band, DJ set, and dancers, the performance never slowed, creating an infectious party atmosphere that had almost no downtime . Overall, Sean Paul’s show was a perfect fusion of retro charm and modern showmanship.
