Hello March, we’ve been waiting for you! SEASONAL CELEBRATIONS

The fire festival at Skansen

With the hosts Sina Valiollah and Nazanin Nour, an entire sparkling evening with ice dance shows, traditional jumps of fires, children’s activities, fragrant food and fantastic artists from all over the world – including Jasmine Kara and Süperstar Orkestar!

Tempo Documentary Festival 2020

Tempo is Sweden’s largest festival for documentary expression. This year Tempo’s theme is Family and the program is filled with interesting touches in the innermost sphere.

    Sound of Stockholm is a unique festival collaboration between some of the most prominent organizations of the Stockholm experimental music scene: FylkingenFRIMKulturföreningen SEKTStudio 53KonstmusiksystrarSamtida Musik and STHLM Drone Society. Together they create an international platform, where the Stockholm audience can experience groundbreaking artists of diverse musical fields.

    This year’s festival has a special emphasis on nordic collaborations, funded by Puls, a project grant initiated by The Nordic Culture Fund. In addition to this, the festival will also present a large number of artists from the rest of Europe and the United States.

    An occasion to light fire in the yard and in the stove – the greenhouses will all be decorated for Christmas.

    The WINTERBAR serves the bakers wood-oven pizza topped with the last harvest, mulled wine, hot cloudy apple juice from the orchard, beer and wine.

    The greenhouse cafe, farm shop and plant shop are open until 8pm offering anything from traditional Christmas crowns, cakes, pickles, flower arrangements and Christmas gifts.

    Kid-friendly hang out space

    Saturday is community film day at Midsommargården, right beside Telefonplan Metro station. Join in for a free vegan lunch (with gluten free alternatives) before an international programme of trans short films.

    Their volunteers will be providing a daycare space for kids to hang out while the films are screening and there will be fika, drinks and snacks during the afternoon.

    Film makers Anakin Tora Botwid & Sam Hultin, will be there for an inspirational talk on making films in the community.

    Be there early for lunch & stay for the rest of the afternoon.

    To finish the weekend, join in at the Moderna Exhibition – free entry for TFFS participants on 25 November (pick up your ticket at Brunch).

    The 2018 edition of the Moderna Exhibition presents the work of nearly 40 artists connected to the Swedish art scene, offering reflections on Swedish society today, on a natural world that is no longer what it once was and a future that appears to have already begun. At 4pm, there is a performance by Dinis Machado, ‘Site Specific for Nowhere’.
