It may be raining outside, but there is plenty to keep you busy inside. You could see an exhibition, visit one of Stockholm’s 85 museums, go to a live music gig… and so much more. Or brave the weather and go out and see the autumnal colour change of the trees.

James Blunt live

As part of his Moon Landing tour James makes a welcome stop at Globe Arenas.

Life Drawing with a Model in Motion

Catch the dancer’s expressions in the form, balance and movement. Sometimes in longer but usually shorter poses. A fun challenge for both novice and experienced life drawing artist.

Stockholm Jazz Festival

Stockholm Jazz Festival will take place October 10 to 19 in 2014, over thirty different locations in Stockholm county. They do not sell festival tickets. Instead, purchase separate tickets for each concert you want to see.

The 4th International Stockholm Burlesque Festival

The fourth incarnation of the Stockholm Burlesque Festival will be more extravagant than ever! A fun-filled weekend packed with tease, humor, politics and glamour in this “Venice of the North” and the two historical and beautiful venues Södra Teatern and Nalen. Performers from not less than 13 countries over three continents and in all different styles, gender, sizes and in a mix of classic and neo burlesque, queerlesque, boylesque, circus, drag, music, dance and cabaret.

24MX International Supercross & Freestyle MX

For the first time in Europe Supercross elite compete indoors on a full-blown supercross track. American course designer fills Tele2 Arena with 6,000 tons of sand, soil and clay to build a manmade supercross track with giant double and triple jumps that are up to 30 meters long.

Guy: exhibition by Erik Lundback

In a forthcoming exhibition by photographer Erik Lundback shows appears the man’s body up in a new way. With his photo projects Guy wants to show that a naked man’s body can be just as sensual, soft and beautiful as a woman.

Dance from the Street – from Uprock to Dubstep

Tobias Barenthin Lindblad tells of street dance’s origin, development and spread across the world. The audience will be guided by music and dance through history, from the 1960s until today.

The Stockholm Open: Tennis in the City

Since its inauguration in 1969, the Stockholm Open has been played every year, with men’s singles and doubles competing on indoor hard courts. Watch the likes of David Ferrer and Roger Federer battle it out in our own beautiful city… while munching on chocolate, of course.

Skateboard 1978-2014 exhibition

In Sergelstorg: Skateboard 1978-2014 are documented and made ​​available four decades of skateboard culture in Stockholm for a wide audience. At the same time raised issues related to the broader debate on cities, public access and identity.

Cosmonova

At Cosmonova you can enjoy a great, immersive and stunning experience. You can feel what it is like to be on the scene, in the midst of an adventure. The Cosmonova theater is unique, as is its technology. They show 3D films on a part of the dome, that draw you deeper into the adventure, deeper than perhaps you would prefer.

IF YOU WANT TO GET OUTDOORS…

Stockholm Ghost Walk

Haven’t had your fill of freaky yet? Here’s the highlight of the month: A ghostwalk through Old Town. The Ghost Walk takes 90 minutes and is full of tales of murder, mystery, executions, assassinations, diseases…and of course ghosts. You will have the opportunity to see, touch, smell and taste history. Go on, we dare you….

Skansen Open Air Museum

Skansen is the world’s first open-air museum, founded in 1891. Here you can stroll through five centuries of Swedish history, from north to south, with a real sense of the past all around in the histori­cal buildings and dwellings, peop­led by characters in period dress. Check out the calendar of events for workshops, animal feeding times and rides.

COMING UP…

Laughing Stock

Laughing Stock is a new all English Stand Up comedy night at Teater Pero in Stockholm aimed at both Swedes and Expats who may not speak Swedish. There are a few clubs in Stockholm where international acts appear occasionally, but always alongside comedians performing in Swedish. This night will be all in English, reasonably priced and with a great stand up atmosphere.
