Lena Chamamyan's voice and musicality has touched the audience in both the East and the West. She is considered to be one of the premier singers of her generation. A scent of oriental jazz goes through her music - a mixture of classical Arabic music, Armenian songs and western music. She was born in 1980 in Damascus with Armenian roots. At only five years old she gave her first concert. Her first major concert took place in Aleppo 2002.

Lena Chamamyan is one of the few women from the Middle East to write music, produce and sing her own music. She released her first album in 2006 where she mixes elements from oriental music and jazz. That same year she won the Radio Monte Carlos award for best world music. In 2011, Arabian Business Magazine appointed her one of the 500 most influential people in the Arab world.

Over the years, Lena Chamamyan has participated in many prestigious Arabic and international music festivals and her voice is heard in several TV shows and dramatic works in Syria as well as in other countries. The songs on her latest album Ghazl El Banat have a strong focus on peace and protection of women and children.
