The Rice Company of Denmark unveils the stencil paint roller, a thrifty solution to expensive wallpaper and to boring monotone painted walls.  There are three patterns to choose from.  It does take some skill but it’s perfect for those on a budget or the serial decorator.

A few years ago Sweden’s Garden Glory introduced their answer to the boring garden hose (background).  This year the Garden Glory girls go one step further with their take on the mailbox.  It has a genuine leather look but is completely made of metal and like the hoses; it is the highest quality and durability.

If you’ve ever had to wrestle with the sticky mess of window film and those unsightly air bubbles that result regardless of your painstaking efforts to apply it smoothly, then you will be overjoyed to hear about Siluett Frost of Sweden.  These film tiles are made of silicone and are adhesive free, just a bit of water is all you need.  They come separately so can choose how many to apply and where and at approximately 15cm they are extremely easy to handle.

Korv med bröd made easier?  Indeed.  You have to live in Sweden to understand the cultural significance of hotdogs.  Like Pippi Longstrump, it’s huge.  Forget all the fuss of boiling water, now all you have to do is pop them in the “toaster”.  The sleek and cheerful 50s design is in keeping with the trend of seeing more and more colour in the kitchen.

Poop-Pourri

Not exactly Scandinavian but Poo-Pourri made its Scandinavian debut at Formex this year.  Hardly a taboo subject here in Sweden as Kiss och Bajs, a children’s show about a pee and poo, are airing their first season as a spin-off of Rumporkestern, a band of bottoms who perform songs.  The idea is you spray Poo-pourri into the toilet before you go and it will trap the smell like it never happened.  Available in travel and family size.
