Rosendal 2025: Róisín Murphy keeps the audience transfixed with her theatrics and sounds

Róisín Murphy brought bold fashion, pure energy and music spanning from Moloko classics to her solo anthems when she played at the Rosendal Garden Party stage on opening night. The show was brimful with improvisational flair, Róisín’s dynamic vocals and dance-friendly beats.

Róisín Murphy‘s journey spans from cult classic origins in Moloko in the 90s (you will have heard Sing It Back) to her solo reinvention in the 2000s. She enjoyed quite a bit of success with her sleek, self-styled disco masterpiece Róisín Machine, which came out in 2020 during the pandemic. Her latest Hit Parade from 2023 has also earned critical acclaim.

Róisín Murphy’s live presence is simply arresting – theatrical, immersive and unpredictable. She has an electrifying aura, which keeps you transfixed. The frequent costume changes, interaction with the audience, and her spontaneous and playful showmanship define the style of her live shows. And all this also made her a very fun artist to photograph, which you can hopefully see in the pictures below, shot by our very own Nina Uddin.
