Amanda Jenssen was back in Stockholm to wrap up her latest tour and we simply needed to be there, at one of the last outdoor shows of the summer at Mosebacketerrassen.
Amanda Jenssen returned to the live stages in November 2024 after an extended hiatus. Seeing her at Södra Teatern at one of those sold-out shows, something like 12 years after I had last seen her play live, it felt like no time had passed at all when she was there right in front of me. And on the other hand, it also felt more than just a comeback, as she had re-emerged with fresh material and emotional depth.
So, when she was back in Stockholm to wrap up her summer tour, it felt imperative to be there to experience the magic again. Amanda Jenssen and her excellent band make their live performances feel like a journey through her past and present, thoughtfully curated to connect deeply with the audience.
With her blend of genre-bending music, expressive voice, theatrical flair and soulful intimacy, she really has shown she remains one of the most compelling live artists in Sweden. She truly is a magnetic presence on that stage, and it was a privilege getting to aim my camera at her once again.
