Christmas Allsång på Skansen returns to SVT bringing festive music, warmth and togetherness to the iconic open-air stage in Stockholm. Hosted by Pernilla Wahlgren, the programme once again invites both the live audience and the TV viewers at home to sing along to Christmas favourites alongside some of Sweden’s most popular artists, in wintry settings at Skansen.
The show was recorded in front of a live audience at Skansen on 16 December and will be broadcast on SVT on 20 December. Pernilla Wahlgren, who also hosted last year’s premiere Christmas show, says that Christmas is the most meaningful time of the year for her and that she is thrilled to return for a second edition. Sharing this magical evening with the audience and viewers is something she describes as truly special.
The Christmas Allsång på Skansen is still a young format, but it is already shaping up to become a new holiday tradition. Now in its second year, the programme builds on the much-loved Allsång concept familiar from the summer season, combining communal singing with humour, surprises and a strong sense of Christmas spirit.
This year’s line-up mixes established favourites with contemporary voices. Performers include pop queen Molly Sandén, the Finnish-Swedish Melodifestivalen favorites KAJ, all the kids’ favorites Dolly Style , soulful indie-pop star Amanda Jenssen, rapper ADAAM, the legendary Christer Sjögren, the up’n’coming r’n’b artist Simeon and musical star Hanna Hedlund. Scarlet and Agnes Skure also make brief surprise appearances. All of these artists create a broad and colourful musical palette that spans genres and generations.
