This August, Stockholm once again became the epicenter of Scandinavian design as Formex 2025 unfolded at Stockholmsmässan. From August 26–28, thousands of interior design professionals, buyers, stylists, and creatives gathered to explore what has become the Nordic region’s most influential trade fair for interiors and lifestyle.

Bold Entrances and Eclectic Energy
The moment guests stepped inside, they were greeted by a showstopping installation created by fashion designer Maxjenny Forslund and trend analyst Jan Rundgren. Their bold embrace of eclectic maximalism, with vibrant colors and playful details, set the tone for an event brimming with energy and imagination.

Wallpaper Wonderland and Fresh Talent
One of the highlights was Tapetgalleriet & Tapetlunden, a 150-meter wallpaper gallery that showcased the artistry of Swedish print design. Visitors wandered through corridors of floral motifs, geometric illusions, and tactile finishes—an experience that felt more like a museum than a trade show.
The much-loved Design Talents section returned as a springboard for emerging creators. This year’s Best in Show prize went to Nova Felix for her Rebel Rosettes collection—ornamental ceiling pieces that fused plaster casting with 3D printing, turning a classical detail into something witty, modern, and collectible.

Sustainability Front and Center
Sustainability was more than just a buzzword at Formex—it was a commitment. The Sustainability Stand expanded its footprint, with 20 exhibitors spotlighting recycled materials, ethical sourcing, and eco-friendly innovations. For the fourth consecutive year, Formex together with the Stockholm Furniture Fair was honored with the Plaza Interiör Sustainability Award, further cementing its role as a leader in shaping responsible design.

A Marketplace of Inspiration
Across the exhibition halls, buyers and professionals discovered everything from ceramics and textiles to gourmet goods and children’s products. Conversations buzzed around new partnerships, fresh collaborations, and ideas that will no doubt shape interior trends across Sweden and beyond in the coming seasons.

Looking Ahead
With its mix of tradition, experimentation, and a clear focus on sustainability, Formex August 2025 proved once again why it remains the beating heart of Scandinavian design. The event reminded us that interiors are not just about objects but about storytelling, atmosphere, and values.
The next edition arrives in January 2026, and if this summer’s fair was any indication, it promises even more innovation, beauty, and reasons to keep Stockholm firmly on the global design map.
