Amazing Places to Celebrate Your Child’s Birthday in Stockholm

90% of people would prefer to celebrate their birthday with friends, and it is common for a child’s birthday party to be with classmates and loved ones. Often there is a traditional Princesstårta, a sponge cake that is covered with a deceiving layer of green marzipan. There will be singing of Ja, må han/hon leva – the Swedish happy birthday song – and some games and presents. There are some amazing places in Stockholm that you can celebrate your child’s birthday, even if you have a limited budget. Make the most of the scenery and great food that you will find in the city. 

Kungsträdgården Park

Kungsträdgården (Jussi Björlings allé, Stockholm) is a popular park in the city that is perfect to celebrate your child’s birthday. You could arrange for one of the many outdoor cafes and food stands to do the catering, or even bring a big picnic. There are plenty of places where you can get some birthday ice-cream too. The winter months are particularly good for a birthday party, as there is an outdoor skating rink that can be enjoyed by anyone. There is a wonderful atmosphere; all you need to do is hire some skates.

What better way to wear out your children in a fun way, than by taking them to a trampoline park? Yoump (Månskärsvägen 1, Kungens Kurva) offers organised kid’s birthday parties that include an hour of trampolining, hot dogs, cinnamon buns, an hour in the party room and guests even get sent home with a pair of Yoump socks. JumpYard (Veddestavägen 15, Järfälla) is also a popular place for a birthday party. Their trampolining area has different levels to jump from if you are feeling daring. After spending an hour jumping, guests can enjoy pizza in the party room and a round of mini golf.

O’Leary’s Bar

If your child loves their sports and physical activities, then O’Leary’s (several locations) is a great place for a birthday party. It is a good idea to get your child a gender-neutral birthday gift like a football or tennis set. Gender-neutral toys have always existed and are suitable for everyone without stereotyping. If you’re looking for something completely different for your older child’s birthday, then Delta Force Paintball (Runstens Gard, Grödinger)  is a great experience that is fun and healthy. Paintballing is particularly popular with teenage children and young adults. They can enjoy a whole day’s paintballing wearing a special forces combat suit with full head and body protection. The game zones which include “Enemy at the Gates” and “Jungle Attack” have been inspired by Hollywood movies. There is specialist tuition from experts on teamwork, communication, strategy and handling a paintball gun. Delta Force isn’t your traditional birthday party, but it can be a memorable day that is completely exhilarating.

Exploria Center

 The Exploria Center (Fittjavägen 22, Norsborg) is a super fun place for a birthday party. It is the largest amusement center in Europe. There is go-karting, a dinosaur park, bowling, a laser arena, simulators and huge playlands with different themes to explore. If you want an organised party, there are 17 special party rooms at Exploria, each with a different theme including “disco,” “super heroes,” “jungle,” and “princess.”

There are some great places in Stockholm where you can celebrate your child’s birthday, whatever your budget. All you need to do is organize invitations and the green Princesstårta.
