Address: Kommendörsgatan 9, 114 48 Stockholm, Sweden

Best Of You wants you to come join them for another documentary night. This time diving deeper into the issue of body loathing and why poor body image has become a global epidemic, with the documentary “Embrace”.

“Embrace” follows body image activist Taryn Brumfitt´s crusade as she travels the world to uncover the issue of body shaming. Today, so many of us are battling poor self esteem because of the flawless images our society feeds us with. We just need to lose some weight, reduce some wrinkles or fight that cellulite, all to reach this unachievable ideal.

This documentary is both sad, shocking, moving and funny and inspire us to change the way we feel about ourselves and think about our bodies. After the movie, they will open for a discussion group, giving room for those who want to share their thoughts and stories. By speaking about it, you might learn to fully embrace and love your bodies (this applies to all men out there too).

Welcome to The Film Club and the screening of Sophie Fiennes' film Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami (2017). Director talk and party after the screening. In collaboration with CinemAfrica.

Grace Jones is a style icon and a living legend on the club scene and in popular culture. Sophie Fiennes’ intimate portrayal follows the star in the process of recording a new album, with material based on personal experiences. Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami challenges the documentary tradition that has generated countless one-dimensional mythologising portraits of women artists. Fiennes cuts from glamorous stage performances in New York and Paris, to informal chats with friends and family on Jamaica, and brings the audience closer to the human being Grace Jones.

    Duration: 115 min
    Location: the Auditorium, floor 2
