This New Music Friday is So Good!

It’s another New Music Friday and this week it’s pretty amazing with new songs released from several of our Swedish favorite artists, including Zara Larsson, who is taking over the world right now, and some of our “Swedish artists you need to know“…. Here are our picks of of today’s Swedish releases you simply can’t miss!

So Good by Zara Larsson

Sweden’s pop princess is currently taking over the world, raking in chart positions in the UK and getting her foot in the door also in the US. Her breakthrough in Britain was aided by collaborations with local artists like Tinie Tempah and MNEK. In a similar move she’s now enlisted American rapper Ty Dolla Sign for her latest release, and we are sure things are moving ahead stateside for her. At home, Zara has been collecting music awards winning Artist of the Year at both P3 Guld and Gaffa Awards. And we can assure you, she is just getting started…

February by Smith & Thell

Smith & Thell are one of the acts we included on our list of “Swedish artists you need to know” and we are eagerly awaiting their debut album that is due very soon. But before the album, we are treated to a new tune called February. It is another gem of a song from the duo keeping in the vein of the folk and country influences they’ve made their own… and it’s a perfect tune for everybody who is feeling the blues during the dark February days we have to endure here in the north.

Sleep Deprived by Léon

Léon was also on our list of ones to watch and we expect her to do great things this year. Having caught her at recent Stockholm shows, we can assure you that voice works wonders live. Léon is now heading out for an intensive North American tour of 20 dates in February, but before that she has had the time to release another soulful new tune, Sleep Deprived. And earlier in the week she also premiered her new video for her previous release, Liar – so be sure to check that out as well!

Glitter & Gloss by Skott

Skott is yet another amazing Swedish artist who is starting to make waves internationally and at home. She has released a string of impressive and rather spell-binding songs during 2016, including the simply amazing Amelia and equally incredible Lack of Emotion. Now she brings us some Glitter & Gloss and continues to impress with her unique soundscape and vocal stylings. This is what 2017 sounds like.
